What kind of information will you be collecting from me when I visit this site, and how is that information collected?

In order to give you full access to site features such as commenting or e-mail updates, we may ask you to provide your e-mail address and a username to assist in the creation of a login account. The decision to create such an account will always be yours to make. In addition, our site may automatically gather anonymous data from your Web browser to give us an idea of how many visitors we’re attracting. Don’t worry — none of your personal information can be collected this way.


Will you give away my personal information to third parties?

No. The information we collect from you will be used only by The Middlebury Campus, its editors and its technical assistants.


How can I access, update and or delete the personal information you’ve collected about me?

The right-hand sidebar displayed on every page of our site provides you the tools to view and edit your personal information. Write to us at campus@middlebury.edu if you think you need assistance. Please remember that it’s your responsibility to provide accurate and truthful information, as well as to conduct yourself appropriately while using our resources. Abusive behavior can result in your account being suspended or terminated.


Who owns the content that I contribute to your site?

You do. Every comment, letter to the editor, op-ed or other user-contributed content remains the property of the individual(s) who uploaded it in the first place.
