Judging by both teams' records, the Middlebury football team can probably sit back, relax and still win the Old Rocking Chair Game with ease.
Hamilton College comes into Alumni Stadium on Saturday at 2-4, having beaten Bowdoin and Colby, but it has lost road games to Williams and Trinity by a combined 60 points.
Middlebury, on the other hand, is playing some of its best football in ages. The Panthers are riding high after beating NESCAC powerhouse Trinity and first-year quarterback Donald McKillop (see "Inside the Locker Room," page 25) is playing with the poise of a veteran.
Expect the 15 seniors, who will be playing their last home game of their careers, to play their hearts out. The weather forecast calls for a 40 percent chance of rain. Given their statement-making win over Trinity that came in a downpour, this bodes well for the Panthers, who hold the alltime series edge 33-15 and are in positon to win number 34.
