Local Lowdown

Sir Riel
Nov. 18, 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Head down to the Town Hall Theater on Thurs. night to witness an evening of “eccentric manipulation,” performed by Sir Riel, a street artist who has created a one-of -a-kind show for the Middlebury audience. The performance will feature juggling feats, some of which require Sir Riel to use a buugeng (a curved spinning staff). Don’t miss out on this memorable performance! Craft fair
Nov. 19, 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Nov. 20, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Get unique gifts for friends and family and support a great cause! Held at the Memorial Baptist Church, located at 97 S. Pleasant St., the craft fair will benefit Ten Thousand Villages, a nonprofit organization that provides artisans from underdeveloped countries with a fair price and a market for their products. You are sure to find something to your liking, as the nineteenth annual event features jewelry, accessories and crafts from all over the world. Come be a part of something great! Farmer’s market annual holiday sale
Nov. 20, 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.
For edible and non-edible treats, check out the Farmer’s Market’s holiday sale, held at the Middlebury Municipal Gym (38 College St.). Local vendors will sell a variety of gifts and foods. The sale is great a Saturday activity, so be sure to stop by!

Model Citizen Fashion Show
Nov. 20, 7 p.m.
On Saturday night, the stage at the Town Hall Theater will be transformed into a runway! The Model Citizen Fashion Show, in which community members will model fashions from retailers in town, benefits HOPE, a local food shelf. Be sure to get your tickets ($25)! Head over to the THT box office or go online at http://townhalltheater.org. Tickets are also available by calling (802) 382-9222. The doors open at 7 and the show starts at 8.

Pancake breakfast
Nov. 21, 7 a.m. – 11 a.m.
The Addison Fire Station in Vergennes, Vt. is hosting a breakfast buffet with plain and blueberry pancakes, bacon, sausage and home fries. Beverages will also be served. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for children under 12. All proceeds go to the Addison Fire Station to help purchase equipment. For more information, call (802) 759-2237.

Turkey Trot
Nov. 21, 10 a.m.
Take part in a local race! Meet at the Middlebury Municipal Gym, located at 38 College St., between 10 and 11:30 p.m. Buses will take participants to the starting point around 11:40, and the race starts at noon.
