The Campus Voice: Athletic Privilege

This week, we follow-up with Hannah Bristol '14.5, one of the writers of the controversial "It's Actually Just a Game" opinion article, on the numbers that show athlete privilege is real, the backfire, and the gendering of athletic privilege. Before this op-ed, no one was talking about the athletic divide.

Then, we talk to Dean of Admissions Greg Buckles—why do we have a 2-track admissions process, divided between athletes and non-athletes?

In our third segment, we talk to Varsity Football Player Win Homer '16.5 who transferred from Boston College to Middlebury College precisely because here, there is less of an egregious athletic divide. In addition to being a Varsity Football Player, Win is a Studio Art major and cartoonist for the Campus newspaper.

Hosts: Jessica Cheung and Michelle Irei

Guests: Campus Opinion Editor and Writer of "It's Actually Just a Game" Hannah Bristol '14.5. Dean of Admissions Greg Buckles. Varsity Football Player, Studio Art Major and Campus Cartoonist Win Homer '16.5.
