Elspeth Eberlee
Elspeth (Ellie) Eberlee '20 is the senior opinion editor.

Eberlee is majoring in English and American Literatures, with a likely minor in Studio Art. Her particular areas of interest include eighteenth-century English periodicals and Virginia Woolf’s prose writings (as well as the general intersection between paratextual studies, bibliography and literary interpretation). During the academic year 2018-2019, Eberlee was a full-time visiting student at Oxford University’s Lincoln College, where--in addition to her regular course load--she conducted a research project on the visual and literary significance of early British newspapers and magazines.

In 2017, Eberlee interned with the Middlebury-based New England Review, where she read submissions for publication and produced content for their website. In addition, Eberlee worked with other students to conceptualize and produce NER Out Loud, the magazine’s first podcast. During the summer of 2019, Eberlee worked on the federal campaigns of candidates Chrystia Freeland and Leah Taylor Roy in her hometown of Toronto, Ontario-- work which included general correspondence, research and speech-drafting.

In addition to the Campus, Eberlee’s past publications include Blackbird Arts Magazine and Sink Hollow Literary Magazine.
