Lucy Grindon
Lucy Grindon ’19 is an opinion editor.

She has also served as a senior writer for News and Features.

Lucy studies history and Arabic. This fall and winter, she wrote her senior thesis on the role of British anti-slavery activists in promoting the growth of Egyptian cotton during the American Civil War, and the subsequent increase in Egyptian agricultural slavery.

During the summer of 2019, she worked as an editorial intern for Commonweal Magazine in New York, where she covered a protest against the Trump administration’s travel ban and family separation policies and reviewed the American premiere of a new play.

She has previously written articles for the International Rescue Committee and the Los Angeles Mayor’s office of immigrant affairs.

She loves board games, NBC comedies, and guacamole.
