SHIRLEY MAOToday's Faculty Council meeting took place on Zoom and was attended by 250 participants. It was the first faculty meeting since the college suspended in-person classes last month.

SHIRLEY MAOBill McKibben, scholar-in-residence at Middlebury, introduced his longtime friend Naomi Klein at the Scott A. Margolin ’99 lecture last Thursday. He was arrested last month in Washington D.C. while protesting Chase Bank’s relationship with fossil fuels.

SHIRLEY MAO Naomi Klein responded to prepared questions from Dan Suarez, associate professor of Environmental Studies, and answered further questions posed by the audience. She spoke about the importance of members of every academic discipline joining the climate fight.

SHIRLEY MAOThe Pan-African Latino Asian Native American (PALANA) welcomed its first class as a social house last Fall, and now occupies Palmer house. The new space will allow PALANA to host larger social events.
